One Week Down; One Week Left

I have to ask myself if it seems sane or normal knowing that school just started on Monday and I am already at mid-term? This is known at PBI as a modular course, which means I complete a semesters amount of work in two weeks...crazy! I am taking an Old Testament course with a focus on the Major Prophets, and it has been quite difficult and extremely rewarding. I am learning so much about how to read the Bible in a deeper way through focusing on context, literary style, rhetorical criticism. Most of these words are new to me, so part of the challenge has been learning what these things mean so I can use then to help me understand that Bible. The paper I am writing in on Jeremiah 18:1-12. The passage is a well known support for a theology called Open Theism. I am still learning about this new theology, so I won't try to explain it just yet. I would encourage anyone interested to look it up because it does affect the classic view of God as immutable, omniscient, omnipotent, etc. That is not to say that I agree with Open Theism because I do not; however, it is worth being knowledgeable about. Please share any thoughts or questions you have.

So over Christmas break I don't recall actually doing anything harmful to my left knee, but it has been causing me a considerable amount of pain. I find it difficult to squat down and stand back up if I put any pressure on my left knee. I have been resting it, but that does not seem to have made much of a difference. I am going to try icing and heating while I decide if I should see a doctor about it. The challenge is knowing what to do. I believe that God is able to heal and I also understand that sometimes he chooses not to. What is hard is I am super busy and will be leaving for Montana next Friday, which leaves me without any medical coverage. I have medical coverage in Canada. I just keep praying and hoping that it will feel better and nothing seems to change. Anyway, as soon as we get to Montana we will be heading up the mountain for a four day winter trip. We will either be telemark skiing or snowshoeing. Either way having knee pain could have a huge impact on my ability to do the trip well. Please pray that I will have wisdom to know what to do, or that God will just heal it.
